5 reasons why you must attend a Brahmin wedding

Brahmin weddings are really fun, with all the rituals, food, girls and the time spent in conversing with the maamas and maamis. Be it the language, the way they carry themselves out, their unity, and of course, their wit is unmatchable. All these make them very unique. And hey, how can you forget the thayir saadham? Every Brahmin wedding is a package of fun for 2 whole days. Let me tell you why you must never miss out a Brahmin wedding.

  1. Girls in dhaavani and maamis in madisaar!
The first important thing that will strike your sight, when you place your foot anywhere is girls ( I am just being honest). Brahmin weddings, especially, have got the most good looking girls and women. Be it an 18 year old in a half saree, or 22 year old beauty in saree or a 40 year old maami in madisaar! Anyone will certainly lose their minds, also when they are beautifully decorated with accessories and a bright face. Every ambi would have certainly fixed his eye on a well dressed girl who looks homely in saree. Happens always. The best thing here is that, right from a child, to a grandma who is at her oldest age, would have come, dressed beautiful and grand air max 1 on sale. What a golden sight

  1. Kalyana Saapadu - The big grand feast.
No wedding is ever complete without the feast. Brahmin weddings in that case, need I say anything? They are the best, when it comes to food. Such huge variety. The breakfast before Muhurtam, which has tiffin items like idly, rava dosa, pongal, sambar, chutney, upma, coffee and tea and what not? The main speciality lies in their use of fresh ghee in everything. That is where they stand. And the kalyana saapadu, which has like around numerous varieties of dishes, OMG, that I almost forgot what I had this morning! Oooops. The drop of payasam on the green leaf, and ghee, and pickles and chips and rice, sambar, rasam, and what not? Brahmin sadhya is never complete without the thayir saadham and a cup of payasam. Heavenly, isn't it? No other cuisine can ever compete with namma kalyana saapadu

  1. Play with the bride and groom.
Wait wait, let me first tell you what this is. This is the most fun part in every Brahmin wedding. And that too, if ever you are the bride or groom as friend, and their uncles are old enough to actually carry them. Lol! Before the Muhurtam, this is a very popular event that happens Air Jordan XX9 Sale. The bride and the groom's relatives will have to carry them, standing opposite to each other. The groom will have to try to put the garland on the bride, inspite of the bride's relatives moving the bride left and right; the bride will have to next do the same, too. If you are one of those carrying the groom or bride, then you can have unlimited fun doing this. Not always will you get such an opportunity.

  1. Beautiful culture and interesting rituals.
Brahmin culture is seriously wonderful, and deserves a lot of respect. Their strong beliefs, dedication and purity makes it seem even more valuable. Brahmin culture is best depicted in weddings. Right from the engagement, till the end of the wedding, everything is beautiful. The wedding goes on for 2 days, starting with vratham on the first day, that takes place early in the morning. A formal engagement will be held that evening, followed by mehendi function. The next day is the most interesting and fun day. Everyone will be dressed up beautifully. Kasi yatra. This is a ritual wherein, the groom will be dressed up as a sanyasi, with a walking stick and an umbrella and a small bag (we call it manja pai) in hand, assuming to be going to Kasi. That is when the girl's father stops him and proposes to give his daughter's hand in marriage to him Under Armour Curry Shoes Sale. This could be extraordinarily fun, if it is a love marriage. Wondering how? What could be interesting than the girl's father requesting you to marry his daughter, when months back, you would have actually begged him to give his daughter to you? That would be epic.

Oonjal Kalyanam. The bride and the groom will be made to sit in an oonjal (swing) and will be given fruit and milk to eat, and all the elderly women in the family will use items like laddus to dhrishti suthify (very important). While this is going on, one of those maamis with a very good voice will begin singing the oonjal paatu, which is very famous among Brahmins. It is a very beautiful thing to see. A lovely sight!

The Muhurtam. This is of course, the main event, when the groom ties the knot. One of the loveliest things here is the attire worn by them. The groom will be dressed in a panchagajam (a different style of tying the veshti) and the bride will be in madisaar. The most wonderful sight ever. The bride will be made to sit on her father's lap when the knot is tied. The feeling of the parents can never be described. That drop of tear from the eyes of the bride's mother, so valuable. Though all weddings are special, Brahmin weddings are yet, the most special ones, with priceless emotions and happiness.

Happens mostly in the evening, a while after the knot is tied. This can be very fun, with all the women singing nalangu songs. The couple are made to play games like breaking appalam on each other's head, digging a pot for taking out the hidden ringing, rolling coconuts on the floor and many more 95 air max for sale. These are just a few out of the many games. So much fun. Nalangu. Happens mostly in the evening, a while after the knot is tied. This can be very fun, with all the women singing nalangu songs. 1. The US tambrahm families.

Marriages are the time when all the families, even from the US fly down excitedly. Brahmins from the US are always unique, they never lose the slang, they try their best to follow the culture by making their children learn Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam. They celebrate Navaratri on a grander scale and other festivals. The highlight of weddings is the conversation between the families that have come from America and elders who live here. Humour at its best. One common thing that happens is the change in names new balance 750. The name Janani that would have been coined by elders in India, would have changed to Jane, when the child goes to America. Such things happen very often. You can imagine every maama and maami saying “achacho! Dating ah? Adhellaam thappu aache! Abhishtoo , when they hear that the kids go dating often in America. Such hilarious conversations are the best part that you can never cease to miss.
Be it intelligence, humour, culture, language, dressing or what not, Brahmins are certainly special and the best. Get to know Brahmins, and you will also get the best food.
